The final race of the British GT season saw Paddock Motorsport achieve a first-ever victory with the GT4 as Moh Ritson and debutant Kavi Jundu took the GT4 Pro-Am class win.
Moh crossed the line at the end of the two-hour 'Donington Decider' as the leader of the GT4PA category, almost making it onto the overall GT4 podium too.
Saturday's qualifying saw Kavi go fastest in class in his first ever competitive British GT session, an achievement especially remarkable given the difficult conditions as rain poured intermittently throughout the qualifying sessions. Moh followed that up by securing P1 with his lap, with less than half a second between the Paddock #26 and the next best car on combined times.
Kavi couldn't hold the lead off the start of the race, as the #27 car of the GT4 championship leaders Topham & Turner quickly stormed from P3 into the class lead. Kavi wouldn't let them get too far in front, and the gap between was never any more than 8 seconds. By the end of his first British GT stint, Kavi had reduced that to under a second - and after the pit-stop window opened and Moh took over, the Paddock car was in the class lead.
His task was complicated somewhat by a lengthy safety car, causing the field to bunch up. Restarting not just in the GT4PA lead but P3 overall in GT4, Moh had a fierce battle with the #42 Steller Audi, who would eventually end up the GT4 overall champions.
They would eventually get past for good, dropping us off the GT4 podium, but nothing could stop Moh from wrapping up the GT4PA victory - a perfect ending to our GT4 entry's debut season in British GT. A wonderful result for Moh and Kavi and a much deserved one too.
