British GT: Difficult Donington weekend for Paddock
British GT Report - Round 4, Donington Park

The first Donington Park round of this year's British GT season proved the toughest of this campaign so far for Paddock Motorsport.
With the McLaren 720S GT3 car starting 15th after the combined qualifying, Kelvin Fletcher, returning to the team after missing Silverstone, made his customary good start. Moving up to P12 in the opening lap, he spent most of his first stint in P11, chasing the RAM Mercedes of John Ferguson throughout.
Unfortunately things had already gone wrong for the GT4 entry. Ashley Marshall started the race in the #26, but hit another car on the second lap. The car ran off the road and through the gravel, which forced him to pit; the damage sustained was bad enough to keep the car stationary in the garage for the next hour.
Just past the half-hour mark, Kelvin brought the car in for the first pit stop and driver change, which was then followed by the safety car being brought out. Martin Plowman was P9 when the race went green again, dropping to P11 before the next round of stops.
For the last hour or so, the car was comfortably P11 overall, with a decent gap both ahead and behind. Narrowly missing out on the top ten, the checkered flag at least saw our #11 finish P9 out of the GT3PA competitors, meaning our drivers take 3 points each for the GT3PA championship.
Meanwhile, our #26 also took the checkered flag, having re-emerged from the garage with just under two hours left. That meant Marshall and Moh Ritson both spent some time behind the wheel in the race, crossing the line 12th in GT4. Unfortunately, the car only completed 61 laps; not enough to be classified at the end of the race.
